I love it. Everything looks great. I know this is going to touch alot of lives and be a blessing too them. I’m praying for you as you continue to do what I know God is leading you to do. Great job. I’m so proud of you. Sure wish I was there so we could celebrate this together. Have a great week-end. Love, Debbie
What a mighty God we serve! He is so good, you were obedient to His calling and look what He is doing! I am so proud of you but more importantly God is proud of you. love ya!
I am so blessed to have such a Wonderful and Talented Friend who is so devoted to God. I have learned so much from “my Joy”. Can’t wait to see you in June!!!!
joy,
We are so excited for you and joytime ministries! The life you live for Christ is amazing. We are so glad to say we know her. Miss you so much but continue the work you are doing and may God have all the glory!
Hi Joy!
Enjoyed our conversation this am as you traveled to Memphis? Hope the MPJE went well! I wish you well in your Joytime ministry and I plan to direct our daughter to it for your messages. She is going thru some tough times right now and this would be such a blessing to her! I am so looking forward to meeting you in Glen Eyrie!
I do believe God has indeed called you to do what you are doing right now and you can be such a blessing to so many.
I will keep you and your Joytime ministries in my prayers.
See you in Glen Eyrie. Travel with God.
Susan Lutz
I am so grateful you have this website and the new ministry. Even though I can’t hear you on the radio, I listen to your segments here and they are such a blessing! As I always say, everyone needs “Joy” in their life! 🙂
I just found out about your website. So excited for you and really enjoyed hearing your voice again. We miss you and your family but know you are doing God’s work. I look forward to hearing you everyday!
Look in the upper right corner of this page – you will see join Joy’s study. I wish I were close enough to be there but if you are in the Jackson area, I strongly encourage you to attend!! You will be so blessed with the message and the speaker!
Hey Joy!! I have enjoyed reading your devotions! This one really hit home. I plan on sharing this with our women’s group tonight at church. Thank you! I hope you and the family are doing great!! I miss that Sam and those big hugs!
My husband and I are adopting. We were approved January 2012, and are awaiting “The Call.” Thank you, Joy, for writing about adoption. God truly did adopt each and everyone one of us into His family.
I am a Christian and I have a Christian friend I have known since high school. she has done nothing to be but not I don’t want to be around her. she gets on my nerves. I feel at time we have grown apart as she gaines weight and I lose and I want to do things that you have to work, I love to exercise and all she wants to do is sit and watch a move or sit and eat. I feel we don’t have much in common any more except for Jesus. and a lof of the same beliefs and morals. what do I do? I have told God how I feel. I just do not want to be around her and she sits next to me at church.
Oh are friendships complicated! I want to encourage you, my friend, to talk with God about this issue as often as it comes to your mind. He desires for His children to live in harmony with one another and although we have struggles with each other from time to time…love in Christ is the strongest bond! I encourage you to examine your heart and your relationship with God. Ask Him to bring to your mind any area you need to surrender over to Him and make sure your relationship with Him is where it should be. Then, focus on the things that you have in common with this friend. Don’t gossip about her, and ask God to help you see the good in her. Ask Him to heal your relationship with her and ask Him to provide opportunities to talk with her, in love, about how you feel. Thank you for sharing this. I pray God will do a mighty work between you and this friend.
I can tell you the experience I had with a friend that I didn’t want to be around. I kept asking God why do I have to be friends with her. I felt she was needy. I just wanted to meet her need and keep it moving. My mom told me one day “you need her just as much as she needs you”. At the time I wasn’t trying to hear it. But when she moved away I missed her terribly. So she may be aggy but trust if she’s in your life it’s for a reason. I appreciate where you guys are and make the most of it.
I’m so glad this post encouraged you this weekend! What a good reminder of how we are to love others. I appreciate your comment. Thank you for reading my posts! 🙂
Hey–just checking to see if you were still on for Monday night Feb 18? We are planning a night of worhsip for the last Monday night, but we can switch that if we need to. We are entitling the studies “Passion and Purity”. The topics are purity of heart, mind and body if you want to choose a particular one. I will take whatever. Thanks!!
Kathy McBroom
Kathy, Yes! That night is fine for me. I’m very excited to come and speak to your group. Let’s talk a little closer to time and talk about the specifics. Thanks for asking me! I hope you and your family had a wonderful New Years!
Thanks so much for this reminder!! It seems as women this is something we all deal with at one time or another. I wish it was easier to constantly ignore Satan and his lies!
Joy, I used to color my hair all the time until I decided this year to try to
live according to God standards and not the workd’s standards.
So I am going natural and knowing the according to Proverbs
gray hair is a crown of slendor/glory abtained by a righteous life
So why would I not want to display that…..trying it!! 🙂
I love this post!It took me years to really sink in that God loved me that much to choose me.A lot of this was because of my disfunctioal family.I am so glad I am chosen! Hazel Whitley
Thanks for the reminder that God chose me and God chose you. He chooses us individually. It is especially comforting just before Valentine’s day otherwise known as “Single Awareness Day.” It would be nice to have a man to choose me as his Valentine, but God has already chosen me.
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” (Isaiah 43:1)
“I will give you the treasures of darkness, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the LORD, the God of Israel, who summons you by name.”(Isaiah 45:3)
“For your Maker is your husband– the LORD Almighty is his name– the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.” (Isaiah 54:5)
Thanks again for the encouragement. It’s interesting how one thought leads to another. Your thoughs caused me to think of a verse I thought was in Isaih, but I searched and never could find it. I found the other encouraging verses listed above instead. Happy Valentine’s Day.
Joy it was so refreshing reading your blog for the first time.I remember you from West Stanly High School. You were a bright and very liked person.A friend of mine shared information about you on facebook.I am so happy for you and your family.I do remember seeing you also at Ridgecrest School on the PTO staff.I am sure you have heard the school has been closed down.My kids started there since kindergarten. We loved the school and were excited the kids would be going to a good school. You can send me messages about your JoyBLOGS TO MY email address.
Thanks so much for writing today! I feel like you we’re writing for me. God has placed a dream in my heart. I was excited when it was placed there and have pursued it, but the closer it gets to being carried out the more doubt grows in my mind. I am constantly questioning myself now. Thanks for posting what I needed to hear!!
Thank you for posting this wise cousel! I am going through some life changes that seem unbelievable to me. Funny when I realized Ihe verse of Isaiah 41:10 has been posted by my bedside table for months and I really do need to meditate on it and memorize it. Thank you for reminding me. I have had my whole world shook up, and it makes you question many things. But God is still there and if I don’t understand it, I can gain assurance knowing He does understand. Thank you again.
Wow!!! It is such a blessing to learn what God has been doing in yours and Bryan’s wonderful lives! It is a true honor to be able to say that I “grew up” with you and more of an honor to pass along your ministry for Jesus!
We will be looking forward to your concert and hopefully can get a chance to speak with you and Bryan.
You’ll be in our prayers for safe travel, abundant blessings and most of all God’s continued Favor upon your family’s lives! GOD IS SO GOOD!!!
Love to you all!
Scott & Tyra
Yes one phone call can change your life! In a split second your world can come crashing down. This is when I learned to trust God! He has a plan and we must trust his plan!!!
I met your husband today in Tucson, AZ. He and two other people came to do a survey for Gary Morgan. Could you please email me as I regretfully didnt get their names. He told me about your page. My email is zamiacastro@aol.com. Thx
Amen! Thankyou for the reminder. Sometimes it takes time and constant prayer, sometimes it takes prayer and fasting, sometimes it hurts, BAD, but none the less we are not excused from obeying God’s word, no matter how hard it is.
Hey, i wonder how hard it was for GOD to forgive you and I, to turn His back on His only son and let Him suffer for us, all the while knowing it would all one day lead to this moment: When, after choosing Him and having Him with us always to direct us in what is right and what is wrong, enabling us to choose goodness and to be holy, that we would look back to the face of the Father who suffered the ultimate sacrifice for us, and say, “I’m sorry God, but this time it is just too hard to do what you ask of me.”? My God is SO worth any suffering I will ever face, and He is with me thru it all. Knowing that I would fail Him, He died, He suffered loss, He did something that was very, very hard, to enable me for this moment. I choose to fight the unforgivness that tries to get ahold of my heart, DAILY, untill the day that I die, because I know the greatest blessing in doing so is that I’m not fighting alone!
Thank you so much for this message today. I can certainly relate to it, like it was written for me. It took me a long time and mistakes to realize that I should always talk to God about decisions to be made or problems to solve. He is the only one who can tell me what to do. When I started really trusting Him, my life became so much better and less stress. Thank you Joy!
What a wonderful message and so true!!! I will admit though once you have been betrayed by someone or feel like friends have turned their backs on you it is (for me) hard to trust anyone again. I have been encouraged by this and will look to God to help me work through this difficult time and not to shut everyone out just because of the hurt I feel. I may just miss out on an IMPORTANT Friendship!!!!
Your last two posts have been so timely–and hitting me right where I am spiritually. The inner life can be such a battle! especialy regarding our attitudes about others. Thanks for sharing these thoughts and being transparent about your own life! I needed this reminder.
Thanks for the reminder. You know it but at the right time you need a friendly reminder and that is exactly what I needed this morning. GOD bless you as you continue in His ministry!
Get out of my head!! It’s as if you read my mind. I needed to see this so badly. I printed off your list of lessons and taped it to my bathroom mirror so that I can be reminded of it each morning before I start my day. I need to be intentional about all of these things DAILY! As always, thank you for allowing the Lord to use you to encourage all of us!
I blog frequently and I really thank you for your content.
Your article has truly peaked my interest. I will take
a note of your site and keep checking for new details about once per week.
I subscribed to your RSS feed too.
Leslie and Fonsie, Praise the Lord! What a beautiful family and testimony. Makes me want to draw near to the Lord and keep following Him closely! Thanks for sharing! Tami
Joy, I am going to put this into action right away. What a great reminder for us all to look back and see how God has moved in our lives and used situations for our good and His glory. The posts are so helpful. Keep it coming!
I love this! I did this years ago with my kids but we prayed for the family for one night and then chose a new card each day. This way you can really focus on the family more! I also like the encouragement when “life happens”. It is so important to not got bogged down when we fail–which we will do from time to time.
WHat a great message for us all.
Your exactly right about being a worry wort. It is a normal human reaction but when all is said and done if we turn it all over to God the end result is his will for our lives. Thank you for that message. I definitely needed to read that.
Oh Joy, how I needed this today. You know what we’re going through with mother right now and it is so hard. When I don’t know what to do next, I just call on the name of Jesus! I love you and your wisdom and comforting words.
Joy, saw you in Albemarle last year and at West Albemarle Baptist Church, love Adam Hatley & family. I needed this tonight. I am sitting by my precious Daddy’s bed. Only matter of time, waiting on God’s perfect timing to take him HOME. ALL family called in last weekend, goodbyes been said, tears shared, Bible verses, prayers spoken, so many I LOVE YOUs have been said. We talked about heaven and assuring him we will take care of Momma. He has been sick 3 years my Momma taking care of him. Hospice started last Sept. This is hard but I am seeing & looking for every positive I can find in this experience. My (wise) daughter reminded me, “this is nothing compared to Jesus, suffering on the cross for us” this instantly gave me more strength. I love my Lord & Saviour, I trust Him completely, our family will be stronger as we get through this together. We are Survivors, too. Thank you Joy, God Bless your ministry.
Joy…you have NO IDEA how much that meeting fed me Monday night at your house. To simply “be” with believers, striving to serve the Lord with all their heart, and to be encouraged to shine brightly…is what this soul needed. To just be reminded of the charge you gave us as you read out of Matthew, was what this soul needed. You reminded me to keep my “eyes up and press on!”
Joy,
I am grateful for you!
Also, I have gone throught this same experience with my son although we could call his method “Stuff, Smash, Cram and then Pile Legos on top”! Your mom is so wise too–with encouraging you at the end of the process!
Joy,
Thanks for your review. Since Englewood is strongly wanting us to teach the 6 week pre-Easter series based on the movie, I need to see it for myself, before leading our class and perhaps suggesting them see it too.
Sounds like a far cry from the “Gold standard” Mel’s Passion 10 yeard ago. I’ll see it Saturday at 4 in Humboldt.
Let’s talk about it on “Morning Praise” Friday.
What else do you have planned?
F.Y.I. March 27th is your 2nd anniversary of “JOYTIME” on Grace Broadcasting……Just before the DOVE was born April lst.
You have come a long way Sister amd the Lord gets the Glory.
See yah size 4.
The Bomb
Thank you for the review as my 9 1/2 year old daughter has been begging to see this since she first saw it advertised. As it was rated PG-13 I wasn’t sure if she should see it yet, but she knows the story and what will happen to Jesus. Your review has helped me decide that she will be able to go see it.
I googled “when things seem hopeless” and I found you. Right now I feel as though I am at the end of the rope of hopefulness and am dropping into an abyss of hopelessness, hurt, and grief. I have prayed and prayed for 3 weeks now for God to hear my prayers and take this present burden from my family. I am trying so hard to have faith but I am drowning in depression and hurt. Your words in this post mean a lot though and I will keep on praying.
Amazing testimony Scott! I am so fortunate to know this Godly man that you have become along with your beautiful wife and family. You are a true miracle of Gods grace and mercy. Love you friend and look forward to seeing you in heaven along side me and mine one day in the future.
I so look forward to working with you and helping you spread your message! I had an amazing morning with your dear friend Dawn.
What you have written is so true that I can’t even begin to put into words what those words mean to me and the comparisons of the same lessons I have learned over my 43 years.
I have a story and through everything that I have been through over the years, learned from, grown from, each and everyday I am constantly reminded of his precious love.
I am everything I am today because of him, he is the reason and the only reason and if it takes the rest of my life telling my testimony of faith and where I am today because of his love then that is what I will do.
First off, I had a blast Fri night! That was the coolest barn I’ve ever seen:) Joy gave a great word..very inspiring! And Britt can put on a performance!
I was wondering how I can get my pic with britt from my Samsung galaxy. It keeps giving me trouble everytime I attempt to download the pic.Help anyone??
Can’t wait to hear “Joytime” every morning on the way to work. Wish I had know about this other broadcast also 🙁 Good luck with your move and I hope it doesn’t mean an end to “Joytime”. You have been such a positive and encouraging voice!!!!!
Well GLORY !! I am so glad you are doing well..Now back to NC? Well Rom 8:28 ALL things work together for good for those that love the LORD”Letus know where you will be in NC. Maybe I can help you with my realestate company..GodBless
Joy, such a sweet post with an encouraging story about God’s faithfulness. I almost feel bad you are moving back here closer to me! I am sure you were a great Sister of Grace and that you will be missed!
You will be soooo missed in Jackson! You have been an amazing ‘Real’ Sister of Grace and have touch my daughter and my life greatly in your Wednesday night small group classes at Englewood. Please keep us posted on where you are going. I know God will utilize your gifts to help bring more people to him and grow spiritually as well. May you feel God’s presence every close to you in your obedience of moving again.
You have been on my heart so heavy lately!!!! So good to hear from you and that you have moved and are settled. I agree, letting go is hard however God does have a bigger plan for us all. While hard to always do, I am choosing to take each and everything thrown at me as a blessing no matter how hard it may be. I am a little beat up from everything that has been thrown. Yet I know through this season that I have grown and I continue to grow closer and closer to Him. That is a blessing and I’ll take that any day over change. I hope to see you soon!
Just what I have been doing since I left Tennessee. Looking back to my “Happy Place”. Not moving forward. However, it is so hard to forget and press forward when so many people that live there mean so much to me. Thanks for the encouragement. I feel like you were speaking directly toward me. I have to some how get out of the pit I am in
I recently had almost the exact same experience. I am so appalled at what is available in mainstream department stores. This post is thought provoking and encouraging. As mothers, if we know that other parents are refusing to give in and buy these clothes, then we can be encouraged and strengthened. This can encourage our daughters too. We do have to fight and we have to prepare our daughters to take a stand when they will so obviously be the minority. There is so much at stake with the simple decision over what kind of clothes to buy. I do think we have to start protecting their modesty when they are young. The allowance of short shorts when they are 12, will lead to “dating” at an early age and the focus on looking good for guys. All that will continue to progress in an unhealthy direction. Thank you for boldly sharing what so badly needs to be addressed!
I loved the Worry Wart retreat this past weekend. One nugget i gleaned was that i dont have to know why, may never find out this side of heaven, but God is with me thru it all!
I got a kick out of this post! I totally know the Sonic you were at in High Point! Keep running your race, sweet girl! You are an encouragement to me and SO many others.
Thank you very much for this message. The person who is on my nerves- wasn’t on my nerves until 3 days ago, and then all of a sudden she was. She has not done anything to me, and nothing’s changed, just my tolerance level went from a 9 down to a 2. I’ve been praying to God, and He’s showing me that my own pride has a lot to do with it. For example, she has a tendency to oppose whatever somebody else says- no matter how trivial the subject. In the past, Through God’s grace, I was able to shrug it off and let it go- reminding myself that “it’s just the way she is”. As I started getting more irritated when she wouldn’t just be ‘easy’ and agree with me, The Holy Spirit said to me: “Why does she HAVE to agree with you? Why does she have to share your opinion?…” And slowly I realized that I was looking down on her, and needed to read some scripture about humility. I realize that she’s in my life so I can practice being humble and patient…even if it’s every minute we’re together.
You are absolutely right when you say that we should pray for them! God says: “just worry about yourself, and leave that person to Me”. Jesus said to take the plank out of your own eye before you try to get the spec out of somebody elses. Only loving and praying for a ‘difficult’ person will make a difference.
So I’ll keep asking God for help, and I won’t stop. We can do nothing apart from Christ.
I love your post, this one and all the one’s before. I was rushing through a busy day when this one hit my inbox but I saved it because I knew it would be words of wisdom and encouragement that I would need once my busy day slowed down. I finally got around to reading it and it was exactly what I expected! Thanks and keep it coming.
All that coffee and hot chocolate talk brings back memories! And you are right, I love being challenged to extend myself and grow spiritually. I would love to hear from you. I have lost your contact info. Merry Christmas!
I pray that I too will have that kind of strength if I were to face something like this. God is the only one who can give us that peace. Thanks for sharing, and inspiring me!
I have struggled with this for as long as I can remember. Then in 1986 I faced the darkest hour imaginable…we lost our 9 year old daughter. I lost my faith and it took a long time to find it again. Although I truly believe that God walks with us through whatever we have to face, I still struggle with being positive in the face of adversity. I’m 65 years old and this struggle has been with me for a long time…but I’m working on it:)
Cheryl, I lost my oldest son in 1993 so I somewhat understand your struggles. My middle son gave his testimony at church which was basically saying that the worst day of his life was the best day of his life. When my oldest died, it was his brother’s worst day, but he looked to God for help and it became the best day as he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior then. Obviously, I didn’t want my oldest to die, but I cannot help but think of how happy he must be that his life/death changed the life of his brother for the better. This life is not about us, but about Him. It is such a blessing how He turns horrific things to the good. God bless you on your journey. Hugs and prayers from one Cheryl to another.
A blessed Monday morning to you, Joy. I am the new associate minister at Unity UMC in Thomasville. It was a God moment meeting your husband Bryan at 1st Choice Automotive this morning. Our women at Unity just finished a Bible Study (Hard to Dance with the Devil on your Back) and was hoping that you might have some resources or events in mind to keep their faith journey going.
Have a blessed day
I love your ministry! You encourage me through facebook and blogs. Always speaks right to me. Keep up the good work for the kingdom. To God be the glory!
Really needed this today! My daughter will be graduating in June and she has been dating her boyfriend for over 2 years now, and it has been very hard for this mom to let go and let God!
i love your blog, joy. you are such an encourager to me. thank you for all you do. your facebook posts come right when i need them most. i need to plan a vacation. it has been a long time. im with you. i like the mountains best.
My problem is the person getting on my nerves is always leaving her daughter with me just to get her hair and nails done while I am pregnant, I have a toddler son and I work and study! It’s starting to get really annoying and I don’t know what to do anymore. I asked politely once that she pick up her daughter because I am busy and she took a nap instead!! It’s so hard to be ok with this… what do I do
Deedee, That can be tough! I think you have to set boundaries with your friend. You must be honest with her, explaining that you are a person who has limits. You have studying to do, you have a son to take care of and you’re tired from being pregnant. A good friend will understand and will not be a burden to you. I hope things get better! ~Joy
I can to the big daddy weave event in high point. Wow! I had never head you speak but God spoke through you in a big way. It was amazing. You are a brown headed, young Beth Moore.
This post has helped me to. Thx!
My friend send this to me. She knows I feel very useless to God. I have 4 kids under the age of 8. I feel like I can’t do anything for God. My life at home is to busy. Thank u for this.
Saw this on facebook. My name is Dara. I think God is angry with me and will not use me. I try but I can’t get ahead. It’s one bad thing after another. People say he forgives us and will bless us but I don’t know if he does. What do I do?
Just stumbled upon this website today…was worried and read the message on worrying. It lifted me up and, encouraged me with Jesus hope..as I keep reading these blogs, I really relate to every one of them.
Hey Jill! It’s so nice to “meet” you! I’m so glad you found Joytime! Let me tell you, these blogs are real life! It’s messy and sometimes ugly—nothing fake or fluffy! 🙂 I hope this blog will serve as a source of encouragement to you! ~Joy
very inspiring….my best friend got on my nerves and i snapped. she was comparing her baby to mine and did iti many times. i asked her to forgive me but i have felt an anger towards her. been praying to get that feeling out of me….i am calling her now…reading scripture …this confirms it for me
Patricia—I can relate to what you’re saying! I’m so glad God is showing you how He wants you to handle this situation. He will bless you for your obedience and the grace you are showing to your friend! Glad you stopped by my website.
these seem to come to my email at just the right time. I appreciate your honesty. I am in a situation now where I have been to sensitive. I am glad for this blog.
Thanks, Joy. I needed this today. Israel, My Glory magazine had a cover years ago that said, “Busyness in the King’s Business is no excuse for neglecting the King.” And as you pointed out – the real business of the King – being His light.
Thanks Joy, I needed to hear this today! Sometimes the hardest thing for me is the surrendering part. I want to try and control even the smaller things in life since I know I can’t control the bigger pieces. But it’s important to fully surrender to God’s plan in order to have peace with all the trials in this world.
That makes it tough Mikala, but God has a purpose for that person being in your life. He may be developing your character and using you to be an example to that family member. Stay in the Word and ask God to strengthen you as you try to respond to this person in a Christ-like manner! Great to hear from you! Stay in touch!
-Joy
this really made me smile! what a sweet childhood memory. thank you for always being encouraging. i love reading your blog. you need to post more oftnn.
Halleluyah i am vry much encouraged. am realy in my darkest hour i see i shld trust absolutely in God who is great to do wonders. thx so much God bls u
I’m embarrassed to say I have read your journey for the first time just now. Needless to say, you are an amazing person! I have known you since your birth but I am just realizing what an amazing, godly young woman you are. I recently found your radio broadcast while searching for a calming, relaxing station to help me soothe my anxieties. We all have times that we have so much to think about and decisions to make, especially as a woman. The songs, the scripture, words of encouragement are just the right combination to allay my feelings of anxiousness. Thank you, Joy.
Oh, Bonnie, thank you so much for your sweet post! I’m so glad you found Joytime on the radio! I’m glad it brought you some encouragement! Have a great evening! ~Joy
Hey Christie! Thank you for your message! I am also so excited about our event! Yes! The event will be appropriate for your daughters! Natalie Grant will be bringing her daughters too! I look forward to seeing you in June! 🙂
So many people don’t do what they say they will do. Even Christians ! We should do just like you say. Follow thru! I have sons family members who need to read this!
This happens to me all the time. I get tired of it. People promise to help and turn there backs on you! Thx for this. I hope other people read it and change there ways.
Thank you so much for this Joy. I have these days on occasion (yesterday being one of them!) I try hard to wake up being thankful and positive, then WHAM!-I get hit with that “soccer ball”! Thanks for reminding me I am human. LY!
Good reminder Joy. I get weighed down with all I have to do. Thanx for encouraging me to make a special memory. I’m going to take my children to the park and have a picnic today and make a memory with them.
Prayer please: Forgiveness for doing stupid things, not listening, redemption of life, feel /know the love of God I ask prayer for Forgiveness for doing stupid things, redemption of life, me and my family
Thank I need to read this because I work around mess and it burns me on the inside. At times I have negative thoughts thinking people are talking about me and when they say my name that’s one reason why.
God’s Grace be with you! What a wonderful testimony it really did speak to me so much and I’d like to share this with others that I know! God bless you
This is an awesome post! being a momma is so hard. i love my kiddos and this is exactly the reminder i needed. we have to reach them to obey us. thanks to you Joy Green for always meeting us where we are. XOXO
Bless you for sharing this….a few months ago my bestie of 15 plus years stated to me that my happy bouncy personality gets on her nerves as we were traveling from a ladies conference….it tore through my heart..i drove to exit 7 Bristol Virginia tears flowing….i expressed I was sorry that God had made me to be this way as she exited my car in her driveway….sad to say our friendship changed because I could not change how God made me….and my dear bestie could not accept me….may God bless you tonight at Celebration Church…Sept 12 2017
I very much appreciate this article. I would add one more point. Matthew 5:44…Do somerhing good for them or to them. Apply love through gifts, help, service…..what ever discernment and wisdom allows. My problems recieve financial help from me on purpose. It keeps our heart tied together. I may never choose them as a friend but I choose to do good.
Wow amazing transformation. It is amazing how our paths are predetermined and the challenges we go through is never more than we can handle. God Bless and thank you for sharing your testimoney.
I randomly saw this man on the episode of Baywatch, looked him up, and found this testimony. Wow! I am truly happy to have read this. You have such a powerful testimony, and if I found it in such an obscure way, imagine all the others you have reached. God works in wonderful ways! Thank you for this!

atI am a Christian and I have a Christian friend I have known since high school. she has done nothing to be but not I don’t want to be around her. she gets on my nerves.
Joy
atOh are friendships complicated!
Tonya
atI can tell you the experience I had with a friend that I didn’t want to be around.
Joy
atThank you for sharing, Jean! That’s a good word!!

atJoy, I used to color my hair all the time until I decided this year to try to
live according to God standards and not the workd’s standards.
So I am going natural and knowing the according to Proverbs
gray hair is a crown of slendor/glory abtained by a righteous life
So why would I not want to display that…..trying it!! 🙂

atI love this post!It took me years to really sink in that God loved me that much to choose me.A lot of this was because of my disfunctioal family.I am so glad I am chosen! Hazel Whitley
Angie
atThanks for the reminder that God chose me and God chose you.
Happy Valentine’s Day.

atThank you for posting this wise cousel! Thank you again.

atAmen!
Amy McNeill
atWonderful message. Love you.
Cecelia Smith
atThank you so much for this message today. I can certainly relate to it, like it was written for me. It took me a long time and mistakes to realize that I should always talk to God about decisions to be made or problems to solve. He is the only one who can tell me what to do. When I started really trusting Him, my life became so much better and less stress. Thank you Joy!
Mandi Eudy
atWhat a wonderful message and so true!!!
Thanks Joy! I Love and Miss you!!!

atJoy,
Your last two posts have been so timely–and hitting me right where I am spiritually. The inner life can be such a battle! especialy regarding our attitudes about others. Thanks for sharing these thoughts and being transparent about your own life! I needed this reminder.

Ashleigh-Anne
atGet out of my head!! It’s as if you read my mind. I needed to see this so badly. I printed off your list of lessons and taped it to my bathroom mirror so that I can be reminded of it each morning before I start my day. I need to be intentional about all of these things DAILY! As always, thank you for allowing the Lord to use you to encourage all of us!

atI love this! I did this years ago with my kids but we prayed for the family for one night and then chose a new card each day. This way you can really focus on the family more! I also like the encouragement when “life happens”. It is so important to not got bogged down when we fail–which we will do from time to time.

atYour exactly right about being a worry wort. It is a normal human reaction but when all is said and done if we turn it all over to God the end result is his will for our lives. Thank you for that message. I definitely needed to read that.

atOh Joy, how I needed this today. You know what we’re going through with mother right now and it is so hard. When I don’t know what to do next, I just call on the name of Jesus! I love you and your wisdom and comforting words.
Diane Fink
atJoy, saw you in Albemarle last year and at West Albemarle Baptist Church, love Adam Hatley & family.
Fran
atJoy…you have NO IDEA how much that meeting fed me Monday night at your house. To simply “be” with believers, striving to serve the Lord with all their heart, and to be encouraged to shine brightly…is what this soul needed. To just be reminded of the charge you gave us as you read out of Matthew, was what this soul needed. You reminded me to keep my “eyes up and press on!”
He is good to us, isn’t He?
Love you dearly.
Kim

atJoy,
Thanks for your review.
F.Y.I. March 27th is your 2nd anniversary of “JOYTIME” on Grace Broadcasting……Just before the DOVE was born April lst.

atThank you for the review as my 9 1/2 year old daughter has been begging to see this since she first saw it advertised. As it was rated PG-13 I wasn’t sure if she should see it yet, but she knows the story and what will happen to Jesus. Your review has helped me decide that she will be able to go see it.
Adrianne

atI googled “when things seem hopeless” and I found you.
Hannah Keymon
atAmazing testimony Scott! I am so fortunate to know this Godly man that you have become along with your beautiful wife and family. You are a true miracle of Gods grace and mercy. Love you friend and look forward to seeing you in heaven along side me and mine one day in the future.

atJoy,
I so look forward to working with you and helping you spread your message!
See you soon,
Hugs,
Nicole

Please keep us posted on where you are going. I know God will utilize your gifts to help bring more people to him and grow spiritually as well. May you feel God’s presence every close to you in your obedience of moving again.

Nicole Henshaw
atJoy,
You have been on my heart so heavy lately!!!!
Angela Jackson
atSo happy you posted. I miss you

atJust what I needed for today!
Adrianne
atI recently had almost the exact same experience.
Kim
atThanks Joy! A lot of very good food for thought.

atI loved the Worry Wart retreat this past weekend. One nugget i gleaned was that i dont have to know why, may never find out this side of heaven, but God is with me thru it all!

atThank you very much for this message.
We can do nothing apart from Christ.

atI pray that I too will have that kind of strength if I were to face something like this. God is the only one who can give us that peace. Thanks for sharing, and inspiring me!
cheryl
atI have struggled with this for as long as I can remember.
Cheryl
atCheryl, I lost my oldest son in 1993 so I somewhat understand your struggles.
Adrianne

atA blessed Monday morning to you, Joy.
Have a blessed day

deedee
atMy problem is the person getting on my nerves is always leaving her daughter with me just to get her hair and nails done while I am pregnant, I have a toddler son and I work and study! It’s starting to get really annoying and I don’t know what to do anymore. I asked politely once that she pick up her daughter because I am busy and she took a nap instead!! It’s so hard to be ok with this… what do I do
Joy
atDeedee, That can be tough! I think you have to set boundaries with your friend. You must be honest with her, explaining that you are a person who has limits. You have studying to do, you have a son to take care of and you’re tired from being pregnant. A good friend will understand and will not be a burden to you. I hope things get better! ~Joy
Cindi Franklin
atYou have no idea how much I needed this tonight! Thanks for reading my mind! God is using you to encourage others!!! Don’t quit!

Joy

atThanks Joy, I needed to hear this today! Sometimes the hardest thing for me is the surrendering part. I want to try and control even the smaller things in life since I know I can’t control the bigger pieces. But it’s important to fully surrender to God’s plan in order to have peace with all the trials in this world.

atWhat if the person is a.family member and they’re stuck in their thoughts snd ways and they just dont change
Joy
atThat makes it tough Mikala, but God has a purpose for that person being in your life. He may be developing your character and using you to be an example to that family member. Stay in the Word and ask God to strengthen you as you try to respond to this person in a Christ-like manner! Great to hear from you! Stay in touch!

atI’m embarrassed to say I have read your journey for the first time just now.

Apply love through gifts, help, service…..what ever discernment and wisdom allows. My problems recieve financial help from me on purpose. It keeps our heart tied together. I may never choose them as a friend but I choose to do good.
