Laughter!

By

This morning I enjoyed co-hosting with Tom on Morning Praise!  You know, live radio is unforgiving–there is no “rewind” button to redo your words.  It’s a lot different than teaching a Bible study or a classroom of students.  I am enjoying it, but hope to get better at it as I go along.  We spent a little time talking about friendship and it led me to think about the power of laughter.  I subscribe to the Focus on the Family newsletter each week.  Today, one article focused on marriage and laughter.  It said, “the more you laugh together, the more you love your spouse”.  Below are some suggestions on how to have more fun with your spouse:

1.  Don’t take yourself too seriously

2.  Poke at your spouse in a careful, loving way

3.  Laugh even when you don’t feel like laughing

4.  Look for the funny around you

5.  Know what makes your spouse laugh

Laughing is healthy for our bodies in that it causes happy hormones to be released, it helps us burn calories and it releases stress.  I hope, if you are married, that you and your spouse will spend some time in laughter this weekend.  ENJOY being together and remind yourselves on why you married each other in the first place!  Here’s to ENJOYING our spouses!
